he book “Memories – On the Road with Elvis and John Wilkinson” was presented on January 10 by author Peter Verbruggen to John Wilkinson, the man who generously shared his memories and memorabilia.
The accompanying bonus CD includes two hidden tracks, featuring John not only playing but also singing his signature song, “Early Morning Rain”, on stage alongside Elvis.
Titled “Memories – Sweetened Thru the Ages Just Like Wine”, with the subtitle “On the Road with Elvis & John Wilkinson”, the book was released in 2004.
Packed with over a hundred rare illustrations, the 160-page book transports readers back to the days when Elvis Presley filled showroom after showroom. It vividly brings to life the many memories of Elvis’ friend and rhythm guitarist, John Wilkinson. The author, Peter Verbruggen, is also known for his book “Elvis – King of Belgium”.
Far from being an encyclopedia, the book is a heartfelt collection of memories, as John Wilkinson recalls his years with Elvis. It is richly illustrated with unique documents, newspaper clippings, and reviews.
