Elvis – Day By Day 2020

The year 2020 will be remembered as a special year. We saw several good Elvis releases on both CD and Vinyl (and a lot of it!), many new books, film releases on DVD, Blu-Ray and in cinemas worldwide. We said goodbye to friends from the Elvis world and then there was Covid-19, which also had a big impact on the Elvis world.

This year marked several anniversaries. We celebrated Elvis’ 85th birthday with a virtual Elvis week. 65 years ago Elvis signed his first contract with RCA Records, 60 years ago Elvis appeared on Frank Sinatra’s “Welcome Home Elvis” TV show, the classic album “Elvis Is Back” as well as his first gospel LP “His Hand In Mine” was released.

The year 2020 also marked the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ “On Stage Season” and album, Elvis breaking his own audience record, the sold-out Houston Astrodome concerts and Elvis’ legendary meeting with President Nixon at the White House.

But above all of them, 2020 has marked the 50th anniversary of the legendary Nashville Marathon recording sessions and the release of the “Elvis: That’s The Way It Is” film and LP. Fans were treated to a fantastic box set, books and Elvis back on the big screen.
